Since 1996, Marco’s Café has been a beloved community hub where great food, refreshing drinks, and good vibes come together. Founded by Marco Grassi, the café emerged as part of the slow food movement making its way from Italy to California’s Gold Country. From the start, our mission has been simple: serve fresh, delicious food made with love and care—never fast food, but always worth the wait.

We’re proud to call the historic Lotus Store our home. Built in 1893, this local landmark has been lovingly transformed into a cozy spot where history, community, and great food come together. Located just a short stroll from the famous rafting sections of the South Fork of the American River, Marco’s Café is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the water.
Our menu is crafted with care and features artisan pizzas made in our custom-built wood-fired pizza oven, vibrant organic salads topped with freshly baked croutons and our famous Marco’s vinaigrette, and a rotating selection of seasonal specials. Staying true to our roots, we continue to embrace the culture of fresh, healthy food by partnering with local farms to bring the best seasonal produce to your plate.
To complement our delicious dishes, we proudly serve a wide selection of locally made craft beers, wines, and ciders. And don’t forget to save room for something sweet—our house made brownies and cookies pair perfectly with a scoop of Gunther’s Ice Cream, a Sacramento favorite since 1940.
